Yobe Senior government official cut to mouth of APC, issues statement on neighborhood convention
One of Yobe State’s senior government officials, Mamman Mohammed, has reduced himself to a spokesman for the Congress of All Progressives in the state, issuing press releases on the party’s neighborhood congress which has just ended.
Mohammed, the Director General of Press and Media under Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, in a statement obtained by SaharaReporters, was seen congratulating members of the APC party for “the successful and peaceful conduct neighborhood conventions across the country”. .”
The statement released by Mohammed quoted Buni as saying that reports from all states reached his office indicating that the congress had been successful and peaceful.
Meanwhile, the professional functions of the office headed by Mohammed were developing and formally implementing the governor’s communications strategy.
The office also serves as a point of contact for the media seeking information about the governor and the governor’s programs.
Mohammed’s statement reads: “I would like to congratulate all of us for the peaceful and successful conduct of the neighborhood congress. The massive attendance of members at Congress reflects the success of the membership registration and revalidation exercise.
“It also reflects the unity and confidence of our members in the repositioned APC and its leadership,” Buni said.
“I want to assure our members that their choice of leaders at the neighborhood convention, and indeed at subsequent conventions, will be respected. The party has put in place certain measures to verify and rectify anomalies arising from the convention. We are committed to build a strong internal democracy to provide the party with a strong and genuinely popularly elected leadership,” he said.
Buni urged the aggrieved parties to seek redress through established channels within the party.
