Filipino government official caught having sex with secretary in Zoom meeting, loses job
Zoom, the video conferencing app, has emerged as a savior during the lockdown. How else would you participate in business meetings and online courses? This is especially useful because you can turn off the front camera on your laptops and desktops if you aren’t dressed enough for a business meeting, or if you just don’t feel it.
But it turns out that this is the A something that people keep forgetting.
In another case of a Zoom meeting gone awry, a Philippine government official was caught having sex with his secretary during a regular virtual session, media reported.
According to an article in the Sun on Thursday, the incident came to light as the official, Captain Jesus Estil of the Fatima Dos village council in Cavite province, appeared to be unaware that his camera was on.
The footage shows the person having sex in a far corner of the room during the meeting.
Before engaging in the actual act, Estil approached the device in what appeared to be an attempt to turn off the camera.
The call that took place on August 26 was reportedly part of a regular council meeting.
Unaware that the camera was on, Estil and the woman continued to have sex, while other participants continued the council meeting.
Estil joined the call after the act.
But a staff member who attended the call recorded the scene and the video eventually became public, leading some villagers to file a petition to oust the official for misconduct.
The video, which went viral, also became a topic of discussion on local news channels:
The couple are said to have asked for forgiveness, but the country’s Interior and Local Government Ministry appears to have decided to relieve Estil of his duty.
“This is not a simple fault, but a serious fault,” said DILG Barangay Affairs Summons and Complains chief Richard Geronimo as quoted by The Sun.
Previously, a a similar incident has been reported from Brazil when a couple were caught having sex during a Zoom meeting of the Rio de Janeiro city council. As city leaders gathered to discuss school meals, one of the politicians was seen having sex in the background.
