Vice President William Ruto mourned former Mt Elgon MP John Serut.
The DP remembers Serut as a tough, bold and vocal politician who served his constituents with distinction.
“He was a gifted, persistent debater and a fighter for equal justice. We honor the rich legacy he leaves behind,” Ruto tweeted.
Several politicians also offered their condolences to Serut’s family, calling him a firm and insightful leader.
Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya said: “John Serut fought for the rights and welfare of the people of Mount Elgon when he was their MP.”
